Carollo Engineers names Florida stormwater lead

Carollo Engineers has appointed Suzanne Kaufman as Florida stormwater lead, bringing over 20 years of water resources expertise to enhance flood risk management, water quality and infrastructure projects in the state.

Carollo Engineers has appointed Suzanne Kaufman as Florida stormwater lead, expanding the firm’s stormwater engineering expertise in the state. Kaufman is based in Gainesville and will help clients address flood risk, water quality and stormwater infrastructure challenges.

Kaufman brings more than 20 years of experience in water resources engineering, asset management and program delivery. Her expertise includes watershed management planning, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, pollutant loading analysis and water quality improvement planning.

She joins Carollo from Jones Edmunds & Associates, where she served as vice president and implementation manager, leading asset management strategies for municipal clients. Her project experience includes watershed planning for regional water management districts and municipalities, floodplain modeling for county governments and water quality improvement planning for sensitive coastal waterways. A pollutant loading model she developed for a Florida county was later adopted by other agencies statewide.

Kaufman’s appointment follows Carollo’s additions of stormwater leadership positions for its East, California and Hawaii, and Texas regions. The firm said the expanded team will support clients with resilient infrastructure, water quality protection and long-term capital planning.

Kaufman holds degrees in engineering and environmental engineering sciences from the University of Florida and is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Georgia.
