In-Pipe Technology Names New R&D Manager
In-Pipe Technology appointed Bulbul Ahmed, Ph.D., as research and development manager, according to a press release on the company’s website.
Dr. Ahmed received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in chemical engineering in 2005, 2008 and 2011, respectively, from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, National University of Singapore and Washington State University. His research interest includes biofilms, biological wastewater treatment, and microbial metabolisms.
“I am thrilled to work with the In-Pipe team to improve the sewer collection system treatment service offering,” said Dr. Ahmed.
John Williams, president and CEO of In-Pipe Technology, said, “We couldn’t be more pleased with the addition of Bulbul to the In-Pipe family. Bulbul’s wealth of knowledge and experience on sewer biofilm and facultative bacteria will support In-Pipe’s mission to continually improve the products and services we offer our clients and to make wastewater treatment more environmentally responsible.”
In-Pipe’s technology includes regularly adding a high concentration formulation of facultative, naturally occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria to strategic locations throughout the sewer system in accordance with an engineered plan. This entails zero capital cost and requires no additional energy requirement. Performance in the collection system provides increased capacity within the plant, forestalls costly upgrades and extends the life of the existing infrastructure.
