Fabrication of Wind Turbine Support Towers Completed

Four 160 ft. tall wind turbine support towers were shipped to a job site in Minnesota

Dixie-Southern’s Arkansas facility recently fabricated and shipped four 160 ft. tall wind turbine support towers to a job site in Minnesota. The project required expedited engineering and production schedules to meet urgent power demands for the local utility. Dixie-Southern’s engineering team recreated the original design drawings from 25 years ago using the latest AutoCAD Software. All four towers were shipped fully fabricated, meeting all required delivery dates with a quick turnaround time.

In addition to wind turbine support towers, Dixie-Southern specializes in fabrication of large carbon and stainless steel ASME code vessels and tanks, distillation columns, tray towers, large circulating water pipe, heavy welded duct work, HRSG exhaust stacks, autoclaves, bins, silos, spool pieces and hoppers.

With facilities in Florida and Arkansas, Dixie-Southern has fabricated heavy steel plate work for various industries at both locations for more than 36 years. Both locations are ASME Section VIII Certified with U, R and S Stamps. The Florida location is the only shop in the state with Division 2 (U2) accreditation.

Dixie-Southern serves the power, water treatment, oil, gas, chemical, agriculture, food processing, petrochemical, pulp, paper, mining, aerospace, defense and general industrial markets across the U.S. and abroad.
