Jan. 18, 2013

The largest energy, utility and environment conference in the U.S. will be held Jan. 28 to 30

McCarthy, assistant administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Air and Radiation, Christopher A. Smith, deputy assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy, and Michael G. Morris, chairman of American Electric Power, will be keynote speakers at EUEC 2013, the U.S.’s largest energy, utility and environment conference to be held at the Phoenix Convention Center from Jan. 28 to 30, 2013.

The plenary session will include presentations by Dr. Bryan Hannegan, vice president of the Electric Power Research Institute, Mark Brownstein, chief counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund, and Dr. Prabhu Dayal, president of C-Trade and chairman of EUEC.

More than 1200 delegates have pre-registered for the 16th year of this professional networking and educational event where government, industry and environmental groups meet to share strategies and ideas for safe and clean development and use of domestic energy resources. Discounted advance registration ends Jan.15.

“Economic benefit, environmental impact and national security goals shape our domestic energy policies and directly impact energy companies and consumers. EUEC is pleased to provide the forum for leaders to discuss strategies to move the U.S. toward clean energy and energy independence,” said Dr. Dayal. “We’re proud to welcome back Honorable Smith and Assistant Administrator McCarthy as two of our outstanding keynote speakers, along with senior representatives from industry to provide the utility industry’s perspective on national policies.”

Following the plenary session is one of the best technical programs in the industry, where 600 speakers make expert presentations in three days in 10 different subject areas: air quality regulations; air quality monitoring; control equipment; energy and climate policy; renewable energy and electric vehicles; carbon markets and carbon capture and storage; corporate greenhouse gas strategies; biofuels, biomass, and biogas; sustainability and reliability; and energy efficiency and management.

Two hundred exhibiting companies will provide information on technology, innovation and research for professionals in the energy and environment sectors. A complete listing of exhibiting companies is available online at www.euec.com.
