Sept. 1, 2009

IECA has announced that Board of Directors member Lee Johnson, CPESC, will assume the role of administrative vice president of the Board of Directors. The position of administrative vice president has been vacant since the resignation of Becky Gauthier from the Board of Directors in March of this year.

Johnson, an erosion control specialist with Bowman Construction Supply Inc. in Denver, Colorado, has been involved with many facets of the erosion and sediment control industry for more than 20 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics from Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, and has held the CPESC certification since 1993. He is an active member of numerous organizations that are involved in erosion and sediment control and revegetation, including IECA’s Mountain States Chapter, the American Society for Testing and Materials, the Golf Course Builders Association of America, the Colorado Contractors Association, and other local and regional associations.

IECA’s Board of Directors is made up of nine members, each serving a three-year term. The next election is under way, and votes will be tallied in November. Newly elected directors will take their seats on the board in February 2010 at IECA’s annual conference and expo, Environmental Connection 2010 (EC10), to be held February 16–20 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
