Member Spotlight: Hildebrand Pursues Goal to Educate and Inform

IECA is proud to have member Jennifer Hildebrand, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI, CISEC, as part of the IECA Faculty, an elite team of instructors who can be mobilized to teach live training sessions for chapters and other organizations and businesses.

Among many state and public institutions, Hildebrand’s reputation is highly regarded within the erosion and sediment control industry. She has made it her goal to educate and inform the public- and private-sector markets regarding erosion control principles and proper installation techniques.

Practical Experience and Involvement
Hildebrand has been involved in the erosion and sediment industry for more than 17 years. She has a master’s degree in business administration from Augsburg College and specializes in compliance strategies within the private-sector market. She is a registered Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control and a registered Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality. She also is a registered Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspector and a Certified Inspector for Sediment and Erosion Control.

Currently employed by Weis Builders, Jennifer’s experience and industry involvement allows that company to deliver excellence in stormwater compliance to its commercial construction clients. Her specialties include compliance issues, inspection programs, program design and site-plan reviews. Her involvement in the construction industry has provided her with experience in a wide variety of erosion and sediment control products and services. As a result, Jennifer has developed a selection of technologies that involve several methods of hydraulic application techniques and biotechnical stabilization practices throughout the Midwest United States and Canada. This private industry experience and public representation experience provides opportunities for facilitation of appropriate erosion, sediment and stormwater control programs and techniques.

Hildebrand is the previous administrative vice chair for CPESC Inc., previous vice president of the Northern Plains Chapter of IECA, and previous chair of the Professional Development Committee of IECA. She is the executive director for the Vegetation Management Association of Minnesota and former director of the Minnesota Association of County Agricultural Inspectors, former treasurer for the Minnesota Erosion Control Association, and currently is involved with several other industry-based nonprofit organizations.

Widespread Teaching
Hildebrand has gained valuable insight into the realities of land development, commerce, and environmental impacts in the erosion and sediment control industry as a result of her involvement with these nonprofit entities and private-sector organizations. She has conducted numerous presentations and full-day classes on proper management practices, installation techniques, and erosion and sediment control practices and products.

Her presentations and classes have been conducted in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Idaho, Indiana, New Mexico, California, Nevada, Kentucky, North Carolina, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, New York, and Texas in the US, and in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba in Canada. She has spoken and presented materials at multiple government agencies and departments of transportation. She has been a part of specifications and standards development for Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota (US), and Manitoba (Canada).
