Jay Riggs: Low-Impact Development for Clean Water: Proper Design, Installation, and Maintenance—Updated for 2011!
This course covers the importance of volume control practices to effectively manage stormwater from new and existing development. Attendees will learn how to design, install and maintain innovative stormwater management practices such as bioretention, infiltration and collection/use. This course utilizes real examples of how LID can meet state and federal requirements, such as TMDL, MS4 and anti-degradation.
Jan Patterson: Erosion and Sediment Control Design for Stream Restoration Projects
Participants will look at the selection of best management practices (BMPs) for erosion control and the specific procedures for their design. BMPs that will be designed will include stilling basins, skimmer basins, sediment traps, coir fiber baffles, and fiber wattles. Course participants will look at a “real world” set of plans and will work in small groups to design an erosion control plan and the construction phasing for a stream restoration project.
Brent Hallock: Successful LID Practices to Control Erosion and Develop a Sustainable Project
Through LID practices, soil hydromodification and sustainable vegetation, you can restore a site’s sustainability within the context of the ecosystem surrounding your site. This workshop is designed to help you accomplish just that.

Prime Booth Spaces Still Available for EC11 in Orlando
They’re going fast, but a few booth spaces remain for EC11 in Orlando. “The presale for booth space was very successful and we get calls for booth space weekly,” notes IECA’s Sales Manager Rich Harter, CMP. “We still have great spaces available, but I expect they will go fast, as Disney and the Southeast region of the country will make EC11 a well-attended show.”
Prices start at $1,745 for a 10-by-10 line booth with corners starting at $1,795. Prices have remained the same for a number of years, and significant enhancements are being implemented to dramatically grow tradeshow attendance this year. This includes an extended opening reception, lunch in the tradeshow hall, and a closing ice cream social. These events and others are expected to keep the tradeshow floor hopping.
To reserve your space contact Rich Harter, CMP, at [email protected] or 1-800-455-4322 or 1-303-640-7554.
