Shirley D. Morrow, CPESC, CISEC, has been named the new chair of IECA’s Professional Development Committee (PDC). The goal of the PDC is to provide technically sound and proficient educational courses and programs that enhance members’ professional knowledge at each career stage through technical information exchange, facilitation of research opportunities, and encouraging diversity in professional
development.

Morrow, president of ABC’s of BMP’s LLC, was instrumental in the development of the Professional Development Committee. She is a past member of IECA’s Board of Directors, serving as secretary and administrative vice president. Shirley’s service to the association also includes five years as president of the Great Rivers Chapter.

Morrow had this to say about the appointment, “I am very excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to working with IECA’s staff, Board of Directors, PDC members, and Technology Section members to achieve the educational goals of IECA.”

Shirley is well known for developing the EPA-approved Wal-Mart Stormwater Professional certification program and has prepared and taught numerous training classes and certification programs over the last 10 years on the subjects of SWPPP preparation and construction-site inspections. She works with such clients as general contractors, engineering firms, federal and state agencies, and municipalities. She has been an instructor for IECA for approximately 10 years and has published numerous articles on stormwater compliance.
