Stantec Expands North Carolina Team
Global engineering, architecture, and consulting firm Stantec welcomes two professional engineers to its growing water practice in the US Southeast. Civil and environmental engineer Hayden Hoggard, PE joins the firm’s Charlotte, NC office. Hoggard brings expertise in pipeline infrastructure, water resources, and project management for utility, industry, and municipal clients. He is a member of the office’s versatile 50-person team of planners, designers, engineers, and business solutions professionals. Marie Mohsen, PE, joins Stantec’s Asheville, NC office as a water resources engineer. She brings extensive municipal engineering experience, most recently with the City of Asheville, including design and project management related to waterlines, sewer lines and treatment plant operations.
Warren Equity Partners Acquires StormTrap
Warren Equity Partners, a lower middle market private equity fund, announced the acquisition of StormTrap LLC. StormTrap, based in Romeoville, Ill, provides storm water management solutions to the municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential markets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Warren Equity acquired a majority interest in StormTrap from the Hawken family, who founded the Company in 2002. The Hawken family invested alongside Warren Equity in the transaction and will remain on the board of directors going forward.
Storm Water Company Changes Name
Stormwater Maintenance & Consulting announced a new name. Effective immediately, the firm, which has offices in Hunt Valley and Upper Marlboro, Md, will begin trading as SMC. While it will have a new name and logo, SMC will retain its focus on storm water, stream restoration, and related services that protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay. As part of the name change, SMC also unveiled a new tagline: “We Protect and Restore Watersheds” and an updated website.
“The new name reflects the fact that we are merging Stormwater Consulting, Inc. (SCI) into affiliate firm Stormwater Maintenance, LLC (SWM),” said Jennifer Rauhofer, PE, SMC president.
Vortex Focuses on Products Division
With greater emphasis being placed on growing the Vortex Products division, Andrew Gonnella has been promoted to executive vice president (EVP) of the Vortex Products division. As EVP of the Vortex Products division, Gonnella will oversee the further development and expansion of Vortex's existing product line, identify new products and develop new distribution channels. "We are assembling a strong sales team, launching a robust e-commerce platform and securing strategic relationships with distributors in several key industries. Our ability to drive the industry's adoption of technology will be unparalleled and we are excited to redefine business as we know it across the construction sectors," said Gonnella.
NPCA President to Retire
Ty Gable, president of the National Precast Concrete Assn. (NPCA) since 1994, has announced his retirement after nearly a quarter century at the helm of the Indianapolis-based trade association. NPCA represents more than 900 precast concrete manufacturing companies and suppliers to the industry in the U.S., Canada and 12 other countries.
LAN Appoints Senior Project Manager
LAN appointed Bruce Dinkheller, P.E., as a senior project manager. In this role, he will manage construction phase services for the firm’s projects nationwide. Dinkheller has more than 40 years of experience as a civil engineer. His expertise includes management and inspection, as well as intelligent transportation system development and implementation. Previously, he worked at Lane Construction, where he managed design-build and public-private partnership (P3) projects.
