Thirsty Duck LP announced the inclusion of an Early Riser 200H Series (dual restriction) floating outlet and skimmer in the development of the Toyota of Lakewood Ranch in Manatee County, Fla. The site was originally designed utilizing a traditional outfall control structure, but the permit was modified through the Southwest Florida Water Management District to include the Thirsty Duck product in 43 days.

The device will be installed in the stormwater pond that serves the 23.5-acre site and has a peak discharge of 19.75 cfs for the 25-year, 24-hour storm event. Spring Engineering Inc., which was the engineer of record on the project, noted that their client was able to reduce the volume required in the stormwater detention area for the site by approximately 50%, while also gaining 2.62 acres of usable project area by implementing the device in their design.
