The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced up to $3.2 million in funding through its Environmental Education Grant Program to support local, community-driven projects that help protect water resources, public health and the environment.

EPA expects to award up to 16 grants nationwide, with individual awards ranging from $200,000 to $250,000. The program supports hands-on environmental education projects that emphasize real-world learning, community engagement and practical solutions—such as protecting local waterways and improving environmental stewardship at the neighborhood level.

The Notice of Funding Opportunity is now available on Grants.gov, with applications due March 3, 2026. To assist prospective applicants, EPA’s Environmental Education and Stewardship Division will host an informational webinar on February 5, 2026, covering program requirements and tips for submitting a competitive proposal.
