Dr. John Hartig to Deliver Keynote at Ohio Stormwater Conference
Dr. John Hartig, refuge manager for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, will deliver the keynote speech at the Ohio Stormwater Conference, held May 10 to 12, 2017 at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
Hartig is trained as a limnologist with 30 years of experience in Great Lakes science. He has received a number of awards for his work, including the 2015 Conservationist of the Year Award from the John Muir Association and the 2013 Conservation Advocate of the Year Award from the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
Hartig has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications on the environment, including four books: Bringing Conservation to Cities; Burning Rivers; Honoring Our Detroit River, Caring for Our Home; and Under RAPs: Toward Grassroots Ecological Democracy in the Great Lakes Basin.
The Ohio Stormwater Conference will provide up to 11 hours of continuing education credit as well as opportunities to earn more hours through the preconference tours. The 2017 conference is presented by the Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners and the Ohio Stormwater Assn. Now in its 10th year, the conference is expected to be the largest one yet with more than 90 exhibitors and 85 speakers over seven tracks of concurrent sessions.
