AEM acquires Van Essen Instruments to expand water monitoring capabilities
AEM has acquired Van Essen Instruments, a Netherlands-based provider of groundwater and surface water monitoring systems. The acquisition brings Van Essen’s sensor hardware, telemetry tools and data management applications into AEM’s environmental monitoring portfolio.
Van Essen has more than 80 years of experience in water-level and water-quality monitoring, with over 250,000 of its Diver sensors deployed worldwide. Its technology is used in applications ranging from groundwater and surface water monitoring to mining, remediation, and coastal management.
According to AEM, integrating Van Essen’s hydrological monitoring tools with its existing environmental data platforms will enhance capabilities for tracking groundwater recharge, contamination and surface water dynamics. The combined systems aim to support utilities, engineers and government agencies in managing environmental risks and regulatory requirements.
