New ASCE case study explores innovative stormwater infrastructure planning

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) announced on August 21, 2025, the release of Low Impact Development Hydrologic Modeling: West Stroh Gulch Case Study. The book explores innovative stormwater infrastructure planning for water quality, conveyance, detention, flood control and stream health for the West Stroh Gulch watershed in Parker, Colorado.

Making hydrologic changes can lead to improved development practices, especially in stormwater infrastructure. The case study dives into alternative development approaches for preserving tributary stream networks and managing runoff using stormwater controls and will aid in understanding hydrologic changes that can lead to improved development practices. Specific topics covered in the book include continuous simulation model, event-based methods, modeling scenarios and inputs and surrogate methods.
