IECA Announces New Chapter in Canada
The International Erosion Control Assn. (IECA) Region One announced the establishment of a new chapter in Canada. The Canadian Chapter of the IECA is an educational and networking resource for storm water management, erosion and sediment control, and stream protection and restoration.
“We are very excited to have the Canadian Chapter of IECA become a valuable part of our organization,” said IECA Executive Director Sharan Wilson. “We believe that the large and diverse community in Canada will find value and benefits in the IECA programs and initiatives.”
In addition to educational programs, workshops, and events, the chapter will advocate on behalf of the Canadian erosion and sediment control and storm water industry.
The Canadian Chapter of IECA will be led by:
- President Glenn MacMillan, C.E.T., Toronto and Region Conservation Authority;
- Vice President Harry Reinders;
- Treasurer Mark Myrowich, CPESC, CISEC;
- Secretary Ron D. Bisaillon Jr.;
- Provincial Representative Trent R. Hatfield;
- Provincial Representative Timothy M. Egler-Wiome, B. Eng;
- Provincial Representative Robert G. Wills, CISEC;
- Provincial Representative Giles Rivard; and
- Provincial Representative Jamie P. McCamon, Environmental Tech.
"The Canadian Chapter of IECA is excited about the opportunity to become the single essential resource for erosion and sediment control, storm water management, stream protection and restoration across Canada," said MacMillan.
IECA welcomes the opportunity to be present in Canada and looks forward to exploring partnerships in other regions and continents. IECA recognizes the importance of collaboration and idea sharing between members in U.S. territory, Canada, and international members to strengthen the erosion and sediment control and storm water industry as it moves toward universal knowledge.
