The Water Environment Federation’s (WEF’s) executive director Walter Marlowe announced on LinkedIn that he will be stepping down from his current position on May 31, 2023.
The Federation’s executive director oversees a staff of 100 and an annual budget of $27 million. Marlowe also serves as Secretary of the Federation’s Board of Trustees.
“After 30+ years in association management, the time is ripe for me to pursue other life adventures (I hate to call it ‘retirement’),” said Marlow in his LinkedIn post. “I will step down form my current position of Water Environment Federation (WEF) Executive Director on May 31, 2023.”
WEF had selected Marlowe as its new executive director in September 2019. Marlowe has extensive experience in high-level leadership positions across engineering and construction organizations, including a tenure as a director at the American Society of Civil Engineers, executive director of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, executive director of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, and more.
